Head of Marketing Crop Protection

**Minimum requirements for the role**:

- Must have a relevant tertiary qualification
- Minimum 5 years experience in leading a team and experience in cross functional and functional leadership will be required
- Must have a broad knowledge of agrochemical input business with good industry credibility and value chain expertise, with an advanced understanding of products, product positioning and key competitors
- Mastery of business/market intelligence and marketing tools with general knowledge of the market and regulatory processes would be ideal
- Must have strong financial acumen with ability to negotiate product access and distribution licenses
- Must have advanced Excel Skills
- Providing strategic marketing guidance to R&D strategy, collaborating on the strategic direction of the organization.
- Analyzing the portfolio gap and making strategic recommendations for licensing in operations.
- Defining proprietary and third-party product strategies, including the 5 Ps of marketing.
- Implementing a sub-regional marketing platform for communication material and best practice sharing.
- Providing strategic guidance to key corporate communication initiatives, including company campaigns, PR, and the website.
- Gathering, following, and monitoring local markets by crop and customer segment, and reporting market trends/evolution to the crop poles.
- Driving, managing, and supporting the implementation of all strategic marketing initiatives in the area of segmentation, Go to Market Strategy, Key Account Management, POS leadership, Value Chain approach, Crop Solutions, value-adding services including Digital innovation offerings or projects.
- Driving the optimal utilization of company systems and platforms, for example, Smart sheet GNPL, Calyx, UDAAN, Open Skies, Pathfinder, or other implemented local and global systems.
- Supporting the AME marketing budget.
- Leading the marketing team in Africa.
- Overseeing Corporate, Product, Regional, and Local Communication initiatives, TradeMark management, and all customer-focused key initiatives.
- Leading the marketing team.
- Rolling out the AME Corporate Identity.
- Developing a promotional and marketing communication strategy (Electronic, printed media, product demonstration platforms, etc.).
- Leading interdepartmental interaction and coordination among the different functions within the company.
- Developing pricing strategies using pricing analyses and competitor price benchmarking.
- Assessing and making price decisions by the pricing committee based on Value Map and GP Variance Analysis.
- Contributing to initiating, negotiating, closing, and securing co-development and distribution deals with key suppliers.
- Coordinating operational working and communication flow with key suppliers regarding product strategy and product launches.
- Driving the marketing planning and business development for blockbuster products (proprietary and 3rd party proprietary).
- Achieving a high success rate in landing distribution or licensing deals with key suppliers (high GP% X GP absolute).
- Driving and managing stewardship and other small-scale farmer projects.
- Defining, implementing, and monitoring the new product introduction process based on global, regional, and local processes to ensure the delivery of expected budget contribution and participating in the regional SOP process to ensure successful new product introductions.
- Providing leadership to portfolio and regional marketing managers.
- Leading people within the AME Marketing & Communication team, ensuring appropriate staffing with experienced employees.
- Driving performance, setting objectives, conducting follow-up, and annual reviews in line with regional objectives.
- Adhering to all HR policies, procedures, and requirements to ensure sound people practices.
