**Main purpose of the job**

To provide strategic leadership, oversight, accountability, and management support to subordinate managers in all the unit’s daily operations, ensuring everything runs smoothly and efficiently in the unit as per the unit’s

founding document. In addition, to conduct appropriate research leading to publications and/or projects for post-graduate students, in conjunction with the Centre for Entrepreneurship and Enterprise Studies (CEES).

**Main tasks**
- Develop policies and operational plans for the unit
- Manage and ensure marketing and implementation of entrepreneurship development activities and income generation (entrepreneurial) activities of the unit
- Manage the performance and development of staff
- Develop, manage, and monitor the budget of the unit
- Provide reports to internal stakeholders
- Supervision of post-graduate students and consequent publications in accredited journals.
- Represent the University at internal/external Forums.

**Nature of appointment**:Permanent Support

**Minimum salary scale**(Total Cost to Company): R 1 448 433 (2025 salary scales to be confirmed)

**Minimum Qualification/ Knowledge and/or Experience**
- Doctorate in Entrepreneurship or equivalent discipline.
- Must have attained the level of at least Senior Lecturer.
- 5 years’ relevant experience, with 3 years in a leadership role, preferably in a higher education environment.
- Academic teaching experience with excellence in entrepreneurship research and teaching.
- Accredited scholarly publications.

**Desired Qualification, Knowledge And/Or Experience**
- Doctorate in Entrepreneurship or equivalent discipline.
- Must have attained the level of at least Associate Professor.
- 8 years’ relevant experience, with 5 years in a leadership role, preferably in a higher education environment.
- Academic teaching experience with excellence in entrepreneurship research and teaching.
- Accredited scholarly publications.
