Senior Brand Manager

Job purpose/objectives
Main duties/responsibilities (including but not limited to)
To implement the marketing strategy for the company in line with the overall company objectives and the sales strategy
To oversee the marketing budget and to operate within the constraints of the agreed budget
Planning and implementing of promotional campaigns
Creating a wide range of different marketing material
Overall responsibility for brand management and corporate identity
Work closely with the sales managers to support sales teams
Motivate, manage and develop the marketing team to ensure the achievement of performance objectives
Continuously analyse markets and identify marketing related risks and opportunities
Coordinate PR projects and ensure brand receives the optimum of PR
Manage communication strategies and liaise with internal and external stakeholders to ensure effective and efficient delivery of these
Brief, liaise and work with design resources in order to deliver Marketing material of a consistently high standard that stays true to the individual brands’ and corporate identities.
Liaise and develop strong relationships with various internal stakeholders that have an interest or dependency on marketing (e.g. customer service centre, sales, production, training)
Job/educational/qualification requirements
Relevant 3 year degree/diploma with emphasis on marketing
At least 5 - 8 years’ experience in marketing (3 of those years at a management level)
Valid driver’s licence and own motor vehicle
Strong verbal and written communication skills in English and Afrikaans
Strategic thinking, Leadership skills, Insightful
Customer focused, decision making ability,
Innovating and creative thinking
Networking and relationship-building skills
Negotiation skills, Attention to detail
Ability to work under pressure
MS Word, MS PowerPoint, MS Excel, MS Outlook and CRM
Basic knowledge of Adobe CS advantageous
Experience in developing technical catalogues
Knowledge of print and digital marketing communications tools and techniques as well as knowledge of social media and campaign marketing
Understanding and staying in touch with the Sales teams and customers to ensure marketing is aligned to customer requirements
Skills and personal attributes
