Diversity, Equity, Inclusion and Belonging Lead

**Role purpose**:
Embedding Inclusive practice and leadership into the employee life cycle of Vodacom South Africa so that we are truly an organization within which everyone can thrive.
Specifically focus on developing and enabling the implementation of Vodacom SA (VSA) Diversity, Equity, Inclusion & Belonging (DEI&B), Employment Equity, and BBB-EE strategies to achieve transformation beyond legislative compliance.
To be a specialist thought leader, role model, and change agent in fostering a diverse, equitable and inclusive culture where all our people (specifically those from marginalized groups) feel that they belong and are inspired and empowered to bring their whole, unique selves to work to deliver excellence.
**Your responsibilities will include**:
**Diversity, Equity, Inclusion & Belonging**
Provide specialist expertise and input into the development of the VSA Diversity, Equity, Inclusion and Belonging strategy as well as support and enable the definition and implementation of supporting initiatives to enable the realization of the strategy.
Lead the development of embedding inclusion into all aspects of the employee life cycle in line with Global Diversity & Inclusion Strategy
Collaborate closely with the key stakeholders to provide Diversity and Inclusion thought leadership and support; ensuring VSA is in a place where everyone can be themselves and belong.
Design and drive the implementation of company policies that re-enforce Diversity, Equity, Inclusion and Belonging in the workplace - these should also specifically address all kinds of unfair discrimination, harassment and protect marginalised groups.
Conduct data analysis in partnership with the wider team, Data Analytics team and the inclusion leads, to identify trends and provide recommendations to address gaps.
Collaborate across the HR recruitment communities to ensure that we attract, develop, and retain global talent, reflective of the diversity of the customers and communities that we serve.
Support Regional Head of Inclusion & Culture as appropriate.
Design and drive the implementation of Diversity, Equity, Inclusion and Belonging capability-building solutions for Line Managers and Diversity Committees in partnership with L&D
Train hiring managers and the HR community on selecting, managing, evaluating, and retaining diverse employees.
Work closely with the Global D&I team and International Network Leads to ensure VSA is delivering global initiatives to support the D&I agenda i.e., Pride, Women’s Network
Create and Implement the Group DEI&B Dashboard
**Employment Equity & BBB-EE**
Conduct research and benchmarking and to identify relevant EE & BBB-EE best practice for implementation in VSA.
Proactively stay abreast of legislative changes and guide the business and the HR function to ensure employer legislative compliance.
Develop the VSA BBB-EE strategy and Employment Equity Strategy & Plan with the leadership of VSA.
Develop and drive the implementation of specific Employment Equity-related strategies, policies, plans, implementation frameworks, processes, and procedures.
**This includes**:
Taking end-to-end accountability for the Employment Equity consultation and planning process across the organization
Coordinating and aligning Business Unit EE plans, affirmative action measures and initiatives to support effective implementation.
Partnering, collaborating with, and coordinating the activities of all key individuals, including senior managers, responsible for monitoring and implementing the plan
Identifying, investigating, and understanding any barriers to the advancement and promotion of employees from designated groups and proposing plans to address these barriers.
Proactively identifying any areas of non-compliance and putting plans in place to address these.
Developing a funding framework for business wide EE initiatives
Effective Stakeholder Management and Engagement and Issue Resolution
Manage the internal EE processes and procedures to resolve any dispute about the interpretation or implementation of the plan
Execution of BBBEE transformation interventions across VSA
Monitor implementation of various BBBEE initiatives in areas of ownership, management control, employment equity (EE), skills development and preferential procurement (PP).
Manage the different budgets linked to the successful implementation of this role in consultation with the relevant leaders and stakeholders
**Must have technical/professional qualifications**:
Human Resource Management Degree or relevant qualification
8-10 years of experience in senior-related role
**Core competencies, knowledge, and experience**:
Strong experience in DEI&B and design and delivery of impactful programs and interventions at both systemic and behavioral level
Experience in equality, diversity and inclusion legislation and policies
Experience of working impact fully across different teams, functions, and geographies to deliver DEI&B programs.
