POSITION: DISPATCH MANAGER

About the Position:
To manage the dispatch of products/orders as per company requirements.

Working Conditions:

- Contract type: Permanent
- Shift of position: Nightshift
- Overtime hours are not applicable for this position
- Number of positions: One
- Location of position: KwaZulu - Natal

The position will be responsible for but not limited to:
**Stock**
- Continually maximize space utilization.
- Implement and practice FIFO at all times.
- Plan, coordinate, manage and coordinate the movement of all outgoing orders.
- Plan and conduct the stock counts as per the company’s management guidelines.
- Ensuring that stock is packed in correct Crates before dispatching.
- Coordination, control and accountability of products post wrapping pre dispatching to trucks.
- Controlling and verifying postproduction figures from wrapping
- Ensuring stock is kept in the correct areas, after wrapping easily identifiable and recordable
- Ensuring a soundproof methodology for handing over to/before dispatching into trucks
- Working and collaborating between production planner, wrapping supervisors and production to ensure product balances daily.
- Account for rollover and control of excessive stock
- Ensure areas of shrinkage is controlled and identified

**Transportation**
- Loading of trucks safely and effectively.
- Work closely with transport companies to coordinate the movement of orders not within delivery regions.
- Ensure that the cargo/orders are always protected (boxes, sealed, wrapped) for transportation.
- Inspect orders to ensure the correct quantities and products match what was invoiced to the recipients.
- Implementation of Dispatch policies, systems and standards that will improve customer service.
- Ensure that customer orders are delivered safely, effectively, and efficiently and in line with the FSMS (Food Safety Management System) requirements.
- Ensure that all vehicles are maintained following company standards and aligned with the road traffic act.

**Management**
- Willingness to lead by example and, when/where necessary, get involved at floor level to ensure delivery at the correct standard and/or method.
- Drive and motivate the team to achieve targets.
- Ensure company policies and procedures are communicated to the team, managing and resolving people-related problems, including but not limited to resolving employees’ conflict of interests and absenteeism.
- Manage and maintain a highly motivated work environment.
- Administer dispatch staff overtime
- Ensuring balance of Plan vs Actual stock

**To be successful in this role you will need to meet the below minimum requirements**:

- Matric
- Transport/Logistics experience 3-6 years (qualification would be an advantage).
- Must be computer literate (Microsoft Office and ERP system)
- Commercial prowess and proven ability in the customer service environment.
- Excellent knowledge of handling commodities (fresh, frozen, and dry).
- Must be bilingual (IsiZulu & English).
- Highly collaborative and focused on teamwork.
- Leadership skills - display qualities of a good leader and set an example.
- Result-oriented.
- Strong focus on customer satisfaction and implementation of opportunities for improvement.
- Strategic thinker with good analytical skills.
- Ability to use multiple systems and multitask in a fast-paced environment.
