**Main purpose**:
Responsible for the coordination and implementation of the Department of Communication and Marketing’s internal integrated marketing and communication programmes and campaigns. The responsible incumbent will ensure professional internal communication across campuses in line with the overall strategy of the Department of Communication and Marketing (DCM) and the University of the Free State (UFS).

**Duties and responsibilities**:
**Campaigns and projects**
- Work with internal and external stakeholders to develop high-quality, engaging, and well-targeted integrated and awareness campaigns across UFS platforms.
- Coordinate campaigns and special projects according to DCM priorities as well as the Rector and Vice-Chancellor’s internal stakeholder engagement programme.
- Develop and maintain planning of campaign calendars and monitor the outcomes of integrated and awareness campaigns.
- Draft communication plans for UFS integrated and awareness campaigns.
- Collaborate with graphic designers and the Manager: Reputation, Brand and Marketing Management to develop campaign-specific marketing materials and to ensure that it meets brand guidelines.
- Coordinate the production and distribution of designs and infographics and other communication materials to DCM platform managers.
- Identify opportunities to advance and develop an awareness of UFS strategic plans and focus areas.
- Support ad hoc events and projects arranged by the Department of Communication and Marketing.
- Coordinate the UFS graduation coverage.
- Monitor the progress of campaigns and projects.
- Provide regular feedback and reporting on campaigns and projects.

**Newsdesk**
- Identify opportunities to advance and develop an awareness of UFS strategic plans and focus areas.
- Support ad hoc events and projects arranged by the Department of Communication and Marketing.
- Coordinate the UFS graduation coverage.
- Monitor the progress of campaigns and projects.
- Provide regular feedback and reporting on campaigns and projects.

**Stakeholder management**
- Develop content with key stakeholders to draft and prepare communication for internal and external platforms.
- Coordinate and plan the Rector and Vice-Chancellor’s student and staff engagement sessions on the Bloemfontein and South Campuses.
- Work closely with the Communication and Marketing officers of the different departments to implement organisation-wide internal communication strategies and plans.
- Collaborate with colleagues across units to contribute to departmental projects.

**Reporting and benchmarking**
- Research trends in internal communication to remain current on relevant topics and report the research findings to the Manager: Internal Communication.
- Analyse and track engagement and feedback of campaigns and provide regular reports on findings to the Manager: Internal Communication.

**Ad-hoc duties**
- Provide back-up assistance for the Coordinator: Internal Communication Content and Platform Management.

**Inherent requirements**:

- A Bachelor’s degree or a B.Tech degree on NQF level 7 in Communication or Media Studies or related field of specialisation.
- A minimum of two (2) years’ relevant working experience related to the duties and responsibilities.
