**UNIT MANAGER - Nursing : Senior Level Position**

Seeking a senior Unit Manager tolead a quality and safe patient care experience that meets the set clinical standards through the optimal management of human and organisational resources within a structured unit.
The position is based in **Somerset West, Western Cape.**
**KEY RESPONSIBILITIES**
Ensure safe patient care by meeting set clinical quality standards according to company policies and procedures
Manage and mitigate clinical risks in the unit
Lead and manage the staff in the unit
Manage the unit's operational and capital expenses according to financial and budget guidelines and ensure optimal utilisation of resources
Manage and actively contribute to a positive patient experience in the hospital
Support the achievement of interdepartmental outcomes
Manage key stakeholder relations
**EDUCATION**:
3 or 4-year Diploma or 4-year Degree in Nursing
Postgraduate qualification in the unit’s specialist area (if relevant)
Nursing education qualification
Nursing management qualification
**MINIMUM EXPERIENCE**:
At least 5 years of professional nursing experience in a hospital
2-3years leadership experience in a hospital
**EXPERIENCE and SKILL SET REQUIRED**:
Infection Prevention and Control
Clinical Facilitation
**JOB SKILLS AND KNOWLEDGE**
Auditing and accreditation processes
Clinical risk management
Computer literate (Microsoft Office)
Continuous improvement and quality assurance methodologies

Nursing functional knowledge
Patient complaint management
Relevant nursing legislation
