General Description
To ensure the smooth running of the cylinder plant by maintaining high quality, health and safety standards at all times. Taking care of all assets and people at the cylinder plant. Effectively planning and organizing time, materials and human resources to meet the production demands. Ensuring good relationships with suppliers and maintaining stocks of all consumables. Ensuring good administration and timeous reporting of all activities. Keeping abreast of best practices and technologies at all times.
Job Responsibilities:
- Monthly_
- Production planning
- Stock taking of all raw materials and consumables and reporting to admin
- Reporting and analysing monthly production
- Verifying clocking history of salary paid staff
- Laboratory analysis of chrome tank solution
- Health and safety registers checks
- Stock replenishment
- Weekly_
- Production planning
- Laboratory analysis of copper tank solution
- General plant maintenance
- Verifying by-weekly staff clocking history
- Advance overtime requests
- Quotation requests from suppliers
- Price checks Acquiring order number for purchases
- Daily_
- Production planning
- Data collection from previous 24 hour production cycle
- Daily production reports and timeous distribution thereoff
- Administration of daily activities including receiving and despatch
- Issuing of consumables and consumable consuption checks and remedies
- Demineralistion plant functioning and remedies
- Daily water meter readings
- Toolbox talks
- Staff supervison
- Quality checks
- Effluent plant functioning checks and remedies
- Ensuring mandatory use of PPE
Communication
- Liaise with factory planner and scheduling of jobs
- Liaise with ATG supervisor for delivery and receiving of cylinders
- Liaise with print manager and printers and resolving quality issues
- Liaise with admin staff for order no's
- Liaise with suppliers for consumables and raw material
- Liaise with sales reps regarding new jobs
- Liaise with human resources
- Daily liasing and reporting to pre-press manager on all activities
Other Responsibilities:
- To ensure good housekeeping at all times
- To ensure strict adherence to health and safety standards
- To ensure quallity standards are achieved
- To provide training and skills development to fellow employees
- To keep abreast of latest developments in technology
- To plan and schedule regular maintenance
- Ensure the safekeeping of company assets and records
- To be available and participate in relevant projects
- To participate in relevant project in continuous improvement
Qualification and Experience:
- Grade 12 / NQF Level 4
- Qualification in production / operations management advantageous
- Experience working in FMCG manufacturing
- 5 years experience cylinder manufacturing
- 5 years experience in the specific requirements of Gravure Printing
Skills and Abilities:
- Manages time effectively in order to accomplish the work
- Builds good work relations and works well within a team
- Communicates clearly and effectively
- Problem solving and decision making
