Our customer is a fast-growing Road Freight Distribution Company operating in Durban, Johannesburg, and Cape Town.
- The applicant needs to be enthusiastic, hardworking, and passionate about pursuing set sales targets, closing new business accounts and retaining the existing client base.
- A good understanding of the day-to-day operations requirements within the branch will assist to secure suitable prospective clients.
- Sales
- Responsible for securing new customers.
- Ability to prospect effectively to secure appointments with qualified leads.
- Manage pipeline to ensure conversion rate is applied to reach targets.
- Plan & execute approaches & sales presentations to prospective clients.
- Understand the company’s differentiators & use them to promote the company in the marketplace.
- Handle & overcome client objections.
- Understanding of rate structures and relevant competition models.
- Comfortable and confident ability to present to clients.
- Ability to understand & answer RFP’s/Tenders.
- Master and understand market trends and seasonality in the market.
- Proven success in your sales ability within the road Freight market and demonstrable full knowledge of the sales process.
- Meet and exceed targets set in terms of contributing and generating revenue for the department.
- Convert new relationships into repeat business.
- Negotiate with the accounts as per price guidelines given, looking to maximize profits.
- Can execute negotiations through prospecting, cold calling, quantifying and closing deals.

- Grade 12, with relevant degree/diploma will be an advantage
- Minimum 4 years sales experience in Road Transport / Logistics Services
- Proficiency in general MS Office Suite
- Advanced understanding of Excel & PowerPoint
- Strong Consultative Selling Skills
- Strong communication skills
- Analytical skills
- Presentation skills
- Negotiation skills
- Capable of working independently, and having responsibility as an individual
