Since 2017, Life Choices Academy has been on a mission to bridge the skills gap in South Africa. We provide world-class upskilling programs to young people from underprivileged backgrounds, equipping them with the technical and soft skills they need to thrive in high-demand industries.

Our current programs focus is on Software Development, Salesforce Administration & Development and Solar PV Installation.

About the role**:Placement Officer**

We're on the lookout for a dynamic, results-driven, and relationship-savvy Placement Officer to join our team. Your mission? Secure internships that lead to full-time employment for our graduates by building and nurturing strong partnerships with companies and organisations.

**Key Responsibilities**

**1. Internship & Employment Placement**
- Secure meaningful internship opportunities for students with a strong potential for full-time employment.
- Actively build, maintain, and expand our network of placement partners.
- Identify and negotiate internship and employment opportunities aligned with program goals.
- Place students into internship programs through Life Choices Academy and Life Choices Studio.
- Support unemployed alumni by connecting them to job opportunities through networking, direct referrals, and self-promotion guidance.

**2. Relationship Management & Industry Engagement**
- Act as the primary liaison between students and partners throughout the placement process.
- Regularly engage and onboard new industry partners to grow our placement network.
- Stay up-to-date with IT industry trends and hiring needs, feeding insights back to the team for curriculum updates.
- Attend key industry events to expand our network, promote Life Choices Academy, and strengthen employer relationships.
- Work closely with the Academy Managers and Campus Director to align placements with industry demands.

**3. Recruitment & Placement Process Management**
- Oversee the full recruitment and placement process, including:

- Profile management - ensure students' profiles align with employer expectations.
- Interview coordination - prepare students for interviews and manage interview schedules.
- Contract facilitation - ensure all agreements are properly documented and signed.
- Provide weekly placement reports to management, tracking progress and identifying areas for improvement.

**4. Intern Support & Career Readiness**
- Ensure students are fully prepared for placements by:

- Reviewing and enhancing digital portfolios (CVs, LinkedIn, GitHub, etc.).
- Conducting one-on-one coaching sessions to mentor students on job-seeking strategies.
- Organize and manage interview preparation days as part of the academy’s soft skills development program.

**5. Collaboration with the Account Management Team**
- Support the account management team by ensuring the seamless handover of interns into their external work opportunity.
- Provide the necessary internship documentation for smooth transitions.
- Maintain ongoing communication and touchpoints with the account management team to support internship success.

You may be required to perform other duties from time to time that are not included on this list but are necessary due to the operational requirements of the Organisation.

**What We’re Looking For**:

- Qualification: Matric essential and a three-year degree or diploma in business administration or sales/marketing is preferred
- Proven sales record that demonstrates your love of networking and ability to seal the deal
- Experience in similar roles or with a tech sales background is preferred
- Strong relationship-building and written and verbal communication skills
- A passion for youth empowerment and employment creation
- Familiarity with B-BBEEE skills development ecosystem is advantageous
- Familiarity with the Yes4Youth initiative and its business model is advantageous

Pay: R18 000,00 - R25 000,00 per month
