My client is a leader in radio astronomy, electronic and electromagnetic equipment. They currently have a vacancy at their production facility for a Production Engineer. They are constantly growing and developing their own products, and this will be a great opportunity for a goal-oriented, organised team player. As a Production Engineer, you will evaluate and improve production processes for enhanced efficiency and quality. You'll develop automated and non-automated systems, integrate new technology, and oversee the maintaining of the ISO 9001 certification. You'll also coordinate the quality assurance team, collaborate with stakeholders, and ensure the quality of our products and services, while optimising workflows and reducing costs

**Position details**:
Type: Permanent

Primary Purpose:
Evaluating and continuous improvement of manufacturing processes.

Developing effective automated and non-automated systems.

Upgrade systems and processes with new technology, test new and existing production procedures.

Evaluate manufacturing processes based on quality criteria, such as efficiency and speed.

Organise and manage manufacturing workflows and resources, lines and facility layouts and production lines.

Resolve issues and delays in production, find ways to reduce costs and maximise quality.

Train staff in new and existing processes, collaborate with other engineers, contractors, and suppliers.

Preserve our reputation by ensuring the quality of our products and services.

To oversee the Quality Management System (QMS) to ensure continuous ISO 9001 certification.

Supervising and coordinating the quality assurance team.

Oversee the review and approval/release of design and build documentation.

Establishing QA-related strategies to improve efficiency and profitability at the facility.

To continuously collaborate with all stakeholders, including management, finance, admin, and technical staff, to analyse and improve quality assurance-related systems and processes.

**Location**: Somerset-West, Western Cape.

**Job Qualifications, Skills & Experience**:
Degree in electrical, mechatronic or industrial engineering.

Minimum of 3 years' experience as a production engineer or related position in the electronic engineering environment.

Experience working in a high-value/low-volume production environment.

Experience working within an MRP/ERP environment.

Experience with implementing and maintaining an ISO 9001-certified QMS would be an advantage.

Proven experience in achieving the key outcomes listed above.

Proficient computer skills, including Microsoft Office Suite (Word, PowerPoint, Outlook, and Excel.

Excellent organizational and leadership skills.

Detailed knowledge of implementing and maintaining ISO certified quality management systems would be advantageous.

Knowledge of and experience working with ERP/MRP system(s) would be advantageous.
