**Job Purpose**:
The Childrens Commissioner Office within the Department of the Premier, Western Cape Government has an exciting employment opportunity for a suitably qualified and competent individual who wants to make a visible difference by managing the subdirectorate in respect of monitoring and advocacy of the well-being of children in the Western Cape. This post is located in Cape Town.
**Minimum Requirements**:
An appropriate 3-year tertiaryqualification (National Diploma/B- Degree or higher qualification) inSocial and AdministrativeSciences or related qualificationas recognised by SAQA; A minimum of 3 years relevant middle management experience; A valid code B (08) driving licence.
**Recommendation**:
Social policy expert/Children'sRights expert; LLB/ LLM Degree or a Masters level Social Sciences Degree.
**Key Performance Areas**:
Manage the monitoring of the level of service delivery to children in the Western Cape; Monitor the implementation of legislation, international conventions and agreements relating to children in the Western Cape; Create awareness and an understanding of the Western Cape Children’s Commissioner functions, as well as Children’s rights with identified audiences; Report on the activities of the Children’s Commissioner; Perform managerial tasks with regard to the Subdirectorate.

**Remuneration**:
All-inclusive salary package of R 766 584 per annum (Salary Level 11)
Note on remuneration: Cost-to-employer (CTE) remuneration packages for the middle-management service (MMS) and contractpositions are inclusive of all costs related to service benefits or obligations including basic salary, 13th cheque, medical assistance,housing assistance, pension-fund contributions, etc. MMS remuneration packages are flexible and may be individually structuredas prescribed.
