Workshop Supervisor-paper, Witfield

Responsible for building and overseeing the paper workshop and the rotor repair business model with direct responsibility for initiating and providing quality professional and timely repair services, team leadership and client relationship support and marketing support for the Paper sales staff growing into becoming the sales function once the business is large enough.

To develop and grow the service function and expertise along with the Workshop Operations Manager to ensure long-term sustainability and profitability. To optimize repair duration and material usage to maximize profitability and sustainability of the workshop.

Purpose of the Job:
Responsible for building and overseeing the paper workshop and the rotor repair business model with direct responsibility for initiating and providing quality professional and timely repair services, team leadership and client relationship support and marketing support for the Paper sales staff growing into becoming the sales function once the business is large enough.

To develop and grow the service function and expertise along with the Workshop Operations Manager to ensure long-term sustainability and profitability. To optimize repair duration and material usage to maximize profitability and sustainability of the workshop.

Primary duties:
Develop business to consistently attain the set target hours to service rotors and other paper equipment and days to dismantle, assess rotors and paper machine sub-assemblies
Planning staffing capacity requirements for the paper workshop based on business needs, priorities, service standards, and growth requirements.
Identification of opportunities for to build or enhance relationships with clients by understanding their needs and providing practical solutions to their needs.
Support the staff operating the shop floor KPI tracking and measuring system for service within the Paper workshop.

**Job Qualification & Experience**:
Ideal qualifications and experience:
10 Years relevant leader/supervisory position in a technical workshop environment preferable in mechanical repairs and welding

Minimum requirements:
An experienced Fitter/ Machinist with experience with Stainless steel, Aluminum and cast-Iron Welding with MIG, TIG welding and Plasma cutting being beneficial.
Technical hands-on repair and service experience with rotating equipment and assemblies especially various product problem solving experiences and refurbishment.
Supervisor experience of a workshop team and business development will be an advantage.
A good understanding of material characteristics and behavior during welding repairs.

Other requirements:
Hands on (apprenticeship) experience, fitter, or similar plus Valid driver’s license (Code B)
Fitter/Machinist or equivalent technical training
Have experience in reading drawings and interpreting critical dimensions to assess repair work required.
AutoCAD inventor, MS Office Intermediate, Excel.
ERP Package E.g. Navision,
Be prepared to travel to overseas company facility for assessment and training for 6-8 weeks
Must be willing to attend additional courses and obtain a Visual Welding inspector (VT-w) Level 2 ISO9712 certificate.
