Jasiri Venture Builder

**Purpose of Role**:
The Jasiri Venture Builder role is critical to the successful delivery of the Jasiri Talent Investor program. The role will be responsible for the in-person and online facilitation of the program phases in alignment with its progression frameworks. In particular, the Venture Builder will work closely with the Jasiri Fellows to build strong teams that will ultimately create ventures targeting large unmet or underserved markets while demonstrating potential for high growth. We are looking for a Venture Builder to work with, support, and guide Jasiri Fellows through each phase of the program:

- Jasiri Jumpstart (Phase 1): 1-month, part-time, fully remote, online sessions hosted 2x per week to prepare Jasiri Fellows for the program.
- Residential Intensive (Phase 2): 3-months, fulltime, in-person, focussed on Team Formation, Problem Identification, Customer Development, Product Development. Jasiri Fellows will need to pitch their venture to
- Venture Creation (Phase 3): 9-months. Successful Jasiri Fellows will return to their city of origin and launch their venture with financial and technical support from the Jasiri Team.

This is a zero-to-one process through which skilled, entrepreneurial individuals conceptualise, develop and launch a new venture. The Venture Builder should have passion and patience for human development. Experience in advising and working with entrepreneurs / business owners, preferably early stage is a requirement. Having been an entrepreneur is an added advantage, irrespective of the success of said ventures.

**Objectives of Role**:

- Work alongside the Program Lead to facilitate key activities aimed at executing an effective team formation process.
- Inspire and guide Jasiri Fellows in the pursuit of their entrepreneurial aspirations and creation of ventures with potential for high growth; reinforcing the requirements to observe high standards and the understanding of the responsibility that comes with the Talent Investor opportunity.
- Facilitate aspects of program onboarding, including Jasiri Jumpstart to introduce Jasiri Fellows to the Talent Investor program and prepare them for the journey ahead, and ensure their readiness to progress to the Residential Intensive.
- Guide and coach Jasiri Fellows and their teams through properly articulating their problem statements, possible solutions, and relevant business models.
- Ensure Jasiri Fellow teams gain an understanding of the prospecting/market research processes and are equipped with tools and techniques to assess the pains, needs, and struggles of target markets, throughout their customer validation process.
- Work with the relevant experts to guide teams through the productization of their research findings and creatively develop MVPs for their proposed solutions interventions.
- Work with the relevant experts to guide teams in building innovative and sustainable business models for their solutions.
- Guide and prepare Jasiri Fellows to successfully and comfortably pitch their ventures (i.e.ideas developed and tested during the Residential Intensive) at Demo Days, including the Final Demo Day (only successful ventures will progress to the Venture creation stage)
- Provide regular updates and monthly written cohort progress reports during the Residential Intensive.
- Collaborate closely with both the Knowledge & Research Unit Team, and the Head of program Design, and program Lead to iterate and improve the program based on feedback, observations, and lessons learned.
- Complete all administrative tasks and any other duties required in the role and as assigned.

**Experience and Qualifications**:

- Relevant 3-year Diploma/bachelor’s degree in a relevant field
- Over 5 years’ experience in the entrepreneurship development field.
- Experience working with and guiding aspiring entrepreneurs through the entire lifecycle from ideation to successful venture creation.
- Proven experience in developing and enhancing the capacity of entrepreneurs.
- Familiarity with entrepreneurial principles, practices and methodologie
