Continuous Improvement Supply Chain Specialist

SBV seeks a Continuous Improvement Supply Chain Specialist who will facilitate the Host Float Administration function as well the delivery of process innovation and continuous improvement projects. The process of the host float administration process is not an accounting process but rather an analytical and system solution that is required. Cashlogix is also a relatively small team and all members are required to assist with planning to ensure continuity. Cashlogix as a function needs to add value to the cash industry through continuous improvement initiatives. The focus is therefore to recruit staff that are strong in systems, processes and analytics

**Calculate and administer Bank Float contributions and perform the settlements between the various banks (30%)**
- Timeously resolve queries related to float contributions and/or holdings through investigation and communication
- Provide feedback to relevant stakeholders and make recommendations to the relevant stakeholders
- Obtain GL’s for all float related accounts from service providers on a weekly basis
- Accurately format and populate float templates on a weekly basis with GL figures
- Distribute template to participating banks as per requirement
- Obtain settlement volumes from service providers on a weekly basis
- Accurately format and populate settlement volume templates/reports and distribute to participating banks as per requirement
- Resolve any issues (GL or volume) raised by the service provider from report review
- Consolidate cash movement and GL/holdings for reporting and analysis as per SOP, reporting all discrepancies to management.
- Monitor industry host bank general ledger positions and the behaviours impacting them, reporting trends/discrepancies to relevant stakeholders.
- Accurately consolidate Float contributions information monthly
- Calculate monthly float contributions per participating bank
- Timeously and accurately resolve operational float queries raised by stakeholders.
- Distribute float contribution to the participating stakeholders on a monthly basis within SLA. Initiate contribution settlements between participating banks as per SLA.
- Investigate and advise all affected stakeholders if contribution settlements have not taken place.
- A key focus will be to automate the current process to remove manual tasks to reduce the time required to perform the administration task.
- Influence the PCH rules in the industry to drive supply chain optimization

**Continuous Improvement Projects (40%)**
- Initiate and support continuous improvement projects and initiatives within the Cashlogix function
- Assist with continuous improvement projects within the cash industry
- Assistance with data analytics and optimisation exercises.
- Manage and verify that all processes, data required, etc. is current, comprehensive, and accurate

**Coin & Note planning (20%)**
- Optimally manage inventory levels at Host centres in order to meet demand requirements
- Order and clear to SARB as per requirements in line with SLA and SOP.
- Effectively communicate the distribution plans with the various stakeholders and verify that the process has been efficiently and accurately completed in accordance with distribution plan.
**Reporting (10%)**
- Compile and distribute accurate reports to relevant stakeholders as required
- Provide frequent and accurate reporting on forecast plans and trends.
- Attendance and participation in stakeholder engagements when required
- Responding to any data or reporting requests or queries.

**Minimum Requirements: Work experience**
- At least 3 years of experience in supply chain management functions
- Supply Chain Planning and Continuous Improvement (advantageous)
- Analytical & Statistical Modelling and Operations Research

**Minimum Requirements: Education**
- BSc Engineering/BEng ** Special Training**
- MS Office (Intermediate) ** Functional Competencies required**
- Functional competency
