Key Responsibilities
- Set clear direction in respect of team goals, objectives and outputs, performance management,
- training, coaching and system related duties.
- Manage and monitor compliance and adherence to service level agreements.
- Monitor risk within the team, department and system and liaise with relevant parties to manage,
- decrease and or remove these risks.
- Identify and inform Manager / Client Relationship Managers of any issues. (Escalation)
- Supervision of and sign-off on correctness of Specialists processing, recording, reporting and
- related compliance matters.
- Manage correctness of processing/recording/reporting within a team.
- Manage professional verbal and written communication and reporting to clients. (Internal and
- external)
- Investigate, resolve and respond to internal and external client queries. (Verbal and in writing.)
- Guide Specialists to investigate, resolve and communicate accurately, effectively and efficiently.
- (Internally and externally)
- Ensure financial controls / risks are addressed and identify and resolve short comings.
- Manage and coordinate work distribution within a team to ensure optimal efficiency and adherence to service level agreements.
- Identify gaps in training / development needs and ensure that team members are adequately trained on business processes and systems.
Qualification and Experience
- Grade 12 (Matric) with mathematics
- Minimum of 5 years in Retirement Administration and or Group Risk
Knowledge and Skills
- Senior administrator and/ or managerial experience.
- Certificate of Proficiency in Retirement Funds
- Team leader/ line manager development program an added advantage
- Broad financial services industry knowledge and working experience
- In-depth experience in Group Risk and or Retirement Fund administration
- Knowledge of legislation applicable to Retirement Fund Industry and Risk benefits
- Proficiency in MS Excel and Word
- Ability to read and interpret policy contracts
