Electrical Foreman

**Duties & Responsibilities**:
**Specialist Skills and Knowledge**
- Working knowledge of Electrical repairs and maintenance
- Working Knowledge of Electrical LV Reticulation, UPS, Emergency Generation, HV Switchgear, Transformers, and PF Correction.
- Knowledge of tools and materials used in the assigned area of responsibility
- Project and resource management skills
- Excellent theoretical and practical technical skills on electrical installation
- Understanding of maintenance programs for electrical installations
- Understanding of electrical installations in large buildings
- Excellent customer relations and people skills
- Problem solving and analytical skills
- Ability to plan, organise and control own work effort
- Good communication skills
- Supervise maintenance staff and procedures
- Ensure efficient and effective utilisation of maintenance labour
- Ensure work is performed as per standard and on time
- Supervise and follow up on actual progress of each individual job
- Ensure jobs and relevant paperwork are completed accurately and on time
- Notify Manager of additional work needed or any delays in expected
- Monitor tasks in progress in order to maintain acceptable time frames
- Manage overtime requirements
- Organise work schedules
- Assist management with developing procedures to ensure maintenance efficiency
- Attend and / or conduct weekly tool box and department meetings

**Site specific Objectives**

Undertake Planned Preventative Maintenance Tasks.
- Undertake Re-active Maintenance Tasks and Repairs.
- Ensure that best Operating Practice is applied when undertaking Maintenance Tasks / Repairs.
- Provide a list of required materials to Technical Manager to enable successful execution of Maintenance Tasks.
- Complete and issue Check Sheets to Technical Manager on a weekly basis.
- Monitor and action SLA items to maintain all calls within SLA

- Provide prompt, dependable high quality service to all (internal and external) customers
- Present an upbeat, friendly and outgoing personality to customers at all times

- Uphold the trust and confidence of current customers
- Give special attention to repeat orders to ensure the situation is corrected and reduce the likelihood of further occurrences

**ISO 9001; 14001 & 18001 - Quality, Environmental and Health & Safety Standards Health and Safety**
- Adhere to the Safety, Health, Environmental and Quality (SHEQ) Management System’s Policies & Procedures of as applicable to this position.
- Ensure sufficient risk and task analyses are completed to carry work out safely
- Monitor activities conducted to identify any significant hazards
- In conjunction with Technical Manager develop and maintain an effective hazard mitigation strategy
- Record all actions taken to mitigate hazards
- Record all injuries and/or near misses and notify the Technical Manager as soon as possible following the event
- Ensure protective clothing and safety equipment provided is worn at all times as appropriate to the current working situation and is in good working order
- Maintain and encourage good housekeeping practices throughout the workshop

**Ad Hoc**
- May be required to assist with any other duties that may be outside scope of responsibility

**Skills and Competencies**:

- Good knowledge of electrical fixtures, fittings, repairs and maintenance thereof.

**Qualifications**:

- Trade test certificate with wireman’s licence.
- 3 years maintenance experience in Electrical
