Requirements

BSc/BTEch degree in Engineering

A minimum of eight (8) years’ relevant postgraduate

professional experience

Specialised knowledge of power generation technologies

including renewable energy and energy storage, electricity

transmission and distribution systems, electricity

legislation, electricity tariffs, contract management,

supply chain management (SCM) processes and the Municipal

Finance Management Act (MFMA)

Highly proficient in a project development, engineering

design and project management environment

Highly proficient in compiling and managing capital

and operating budgets

Sound knowledge of occupational health, safety and

environmental management practices

Code B driver’s licence.

Key Performance Areas

Provide high level, specialist legal advice and opinions

to line departments in respect of legal issues arising

from the interpretation, implementation, and management

of commercial and other contracts

Consult, research, draft, vet and amend contracts,

specifically, procurement contracts, according to

relevant specification, legislation, policy and

delegated authority utilising approved precedents

Manage the resolution of legal disputes arising from

contracts at court and other forums and ensure

adequate protection of the City’s interests

Attend to correspondence and enquiries regarding

services and ongoing legal projects

Provide guidance and input on changes to City

supply chain

Policies and ancillary procurement related polices

and special projects

Draft and develop templates for supply chain

management contracts.
