This includes but is not limited to applying critical thinking, design thinking and problem-solving skills in an agile team environment to solve complex technical problems (Front End, Back End and Integration) with high-quality solutions & leading all phases of the development lifecycle to deliver.
Job Description
Product & Service Direction Setting, Solution Design & Performance Management:
1. Assume ‘one stop shop’ accountability & ownership for the ITSM / ITOM platform/s and associated Databases, ensuring ongoing development and evolution of expertise in ITSM / ITOM & associated Enterprise technologies & tools.
2. Work with CIOs and business product owners to define the product strategy for the ITSM/ITOM Platform, including optimisation and configuration of existing capabilities and identification, design, and configuration of new capabilities.
3. Leverage a deep understanding of the organisation's internal and external environment (e.g. regulatory) to identify opportunities to leverage the ITSM / ITOM platform for business efficiency and effectiveness.
4. Act as the single point of partnership & assume responsibility for managing the senior business interface (product owner & broader set of stakeholders) relationship for our chosen platform technology.
5. Collaborate across the tech value chain (CSO, CTO, Service Engineering teams etc.) & the business value chain to guide the business on appropriate solutions (cost to value) & strategic technical choices.
6. Define & ensure approvals of the ITSM / ITOM platform/s roadmap (short, medium & long term) and associated business cases and budgets.
7. Work with business product owners/SMEs & process engineers to understand business processes & identify opportunities based on platform capabilities.
8. Leverage specialist analysis tools, frameworks, techniques and practices to elicit, define and document business requirements across multiple stakeholder groups into platform user stories.
9. Translate & document user stories into a technical solution vision & specifications (Full Stack, Cross System) detailing integration points, business & technical impact & associated risks/opportunities.
10. Apply design thinking practices to define & design detailed product solutions & associated functionality.
11. Lead & facilitate the design of the config/new capability solution blueprints in partnership with various technical experts.
12. Ensure all stakeholders are aligned and have the relevant information for effective technical decision-making throughout the product development lifecycle.
13. Lead the detailed scoping, prioritisation & integration planning for the design & deployment of platform product solutions across multiple stakeholder groups.
14. Take ownership for leading discussions in the Group Architecture forum and acquiring the appropriate approvals for platform enhancements & new capabilities.
15. Design & produce platform-related management information & translate this into business insights for effective ITSM/ITOM across the organisation.
16. Identify, source & produce accurate, reliable, consistent information & ensure it is maintained in the ITOM database for effective estate management.
17. Ensure solutions align to the design & direction of the Group Architecture standards, principles, preferences & practices.
18. Strategically & operationally monitor the performance of products and services – ensuring ongoing adoption, optimization & cost to value for our businesses.
19. Stay ahead of the curve on all platform capabilities, future enhancements and practices.
20. Ensure knowledge management practices are implemented to mitigate any risks related to key man dependencies associated with the product.
Managed Services:
1. Lead the commercial negotiation & contracting processes with our chosen platform providers in collaboration with procurement and sourcing.
2. Close commercially viable (new & renewals) deals on behalf of the organization.
3. Act as the single point of contact for MSPs regarding overall product management, product changes, challenges, and issue resolution.
4. Ensure the implementation of effective relationship & communication management routines that enable successful service provision.
5. Lead the on-boarding process for MSPs & ensure the environment is conducive to partnership service provision.
DevOps and DevOps Delivery Management:
1. Cascade the product vision and strategy to all support, engineering & architecture teams.
2. Provide strategic product & roadmap advisory to all platform engineers, support engineers & architects.
3. Leverage expert-level skill & knowledge on the platform and manage all configuration, development & development practices across the platform.
4. Coach & guide teams on the effective design and configuration of our ITOM Platforms.
5. Ensure optimal design & deployment of platform solutions in the organization with a strong focus on release, quality & backlog management.
6. Effectively manage the DevOps/Config/Optimisation & Maintenance pipeline & associated releases.
7. Lead all change & communication processes related to product configurations, changes, and releases.
8. Assume ownership for & lead problem & incident management processes across the platform.
9. Proactively identify, monitor & manage all platform related risks.
10. Ensure agile practices are implemented and sustained for effective delivery to business.
People:
1. Proactively attract, recruit, develop, retain, reward & deploy a diverse resource base.
2. Build a high-performance team environment through self-directed teams by driving performance management & measurement.
3. Accountable for the right people in the right teams to deliver on our tech strategy.
4. Leverage coaching techniques in all squad related activity.
Financial Management, Risk & Governance:
1. Carry the ‘one stop shop’ accountability for all risk associated with technical decision making.
2. Manage & Apply the organization risk & governance frameworks.
3. Ensure decisions on product design and capabilities are aligned to chapter & guild guidelines.
4. Deliver on time & on budget.
Education
Bachelor's Degree: Information Technology
