Job Description for DevSecOps Engineer

At Recru-it, we are seeking a highly skilled DevSecOps Engineer to join our team.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Manage the configuration and deployment of applications across multiple environments.
  • Implement and maintain monitoring solutions to ensure business-critical applications are running smoothly.
  • Constantly investigate and optimize monitoring solutions for maximum business value.
  • Collaborate with Change, Incident, Project, and Release Management teams to ensure successful deployments.

Requirements for Success:

  • Ensure the stability and high performance of application platforms and deployed applications.
  • Stay up-to-date with best practices, methodologies, and tooling in deployment, DevOps, monitoring, and release management.
  • Document investigations and findings.
  • Build and maintain application platforms, adhering to best practices and governance.
  • Prevent tooling and platform obsolescence through roadmaps and upgrades.
  • Support current toolsets and processes.
  • Automate deployment workflows, platform/infrastructure provision, and maintenance.

Qualifications:

  • Matric qualification.
  • Degree or Diploma in Information Technology, Computer Science, or Information Systems.

Knowledge and Skills:

  • DevOps tooling, including XebiaLabs Deploy, XebiaLabs Release, Atlassian JIRA, Atlassian Bamboo, and Atlassian Bitbucket.
  • Apache Tomcat, Microsoft Internet Information Services (IIS), and RedHat JBoss EAP (or Wildfly).
  • Infrastructure/Application configuration management tooling, including Ansible, Chef, Puppet, Foreman, and Rundeck.
  • Knowledge of integration concepts, APIs, REST and SOAP services, SDLC, and CI/CD principles.
  • Experience with containerization, Docker, Kubernetes, and OpenShift.

Experience:

  • 2-5 years of experience in Information Technology.
  • 1-3 years of runtime operations support.
  • 1-3 years of basic Linux user experience.
  • 1-3 years of deployment operations experience.
  • Exposure to scripting essential.

  • Ability to plan, align, optimize work processes, and contribute independently.
