Maintenance Technician (Millwright) Opportunity

HR Genie is seeking a skilled Maintenance Technician (Millwright) to join our team at our ATLANTIS, Western Cape location. This is a lucrative career opportunity with a reputable Global Automotive Manufacturing concern.

We are looking for a hands-on, focused, and self-motivated individual with excellent interpersonal and problem-solving skills. The ideal candidate will be able to work well within a team as well as independently.

Key Responsibilities:
  • Read and interpret diagrams and schematic drawings to determine work procedures.
  • Install stationary industrial machinery and mechanical equipment according to layout plans.
  • Inspect and examine machinery and equipment to detect irregularities and malfunctions.
  • Adjust machinery and repair or replace defective parts.
  • Operate machine tools to fabricate parts required during overhaul, maintenance, or set-up of machineries.
  • Ensure operating safety devices function properly on completion of repairs, modifications, and installations.
  • Participate in the PM program on all equipment for continuous improvement of all machines.
  • Keep detailed and accurate maintenance reports and documentation.
  • Clean, lubricate, and perform other routine maintenance work on machineries.
  • Adhere to workplace safety policies, regulations, and compliances.
  • Maintain a clean and environmentally safe work area.
  • Perform other related duties as assigned.
  • Support planned production volumes.
  • Complete PM tasks to schedule.
Requirements:
  • Mechatronics diploma or N4 Plus Trade Test Certificate (Millwright).
  • 3-4 years of maintenance experience in the Automotive/FMCG industry.
  • Physical ability to lift up to 13.6kg.
  • Formal training in CAD (AutoCAD, Solidworks, other).
  • Basic Siemens PLC knowledge is essential.
  • Knowledge of Hydraulics, Pneumatics, and Electrical systems.
  • Proficiency in MS office (Outlook, Word, Excel, Teams, Notes).
  • Problem/fault finding skills in electro-mechanical systems.
  • Read and understand electrical schematics.
  • Hand Tools Proficiency.
  • Pneumatic skills FESTO and SMC.
  • Oral & Written Skills for Management Feedback and Reporting.
  • Able to work extended work hours when required.
  • Own reliable transport and valid driver's license.
