Maintenance Strategist

Salary: The estimated salary for this position is R650,000 - R850,000 per annum, depending on experience.

Job Description:

The primary objective of this role is to manage the maintenance planning function at the plant and to manage the spares store.

Key Responsibilities:

• Develop and implement a maintenance strategy that aligns with the plant's overall objectives.
• Manage the spares store to ensure that all necessary parts are stocked and easily accessible.
• Collaborate with the production team to identify areas for improvement and implement changes to increase efficiency.
• Conduct regular audits to ensure that all equipment is functioning properly and make recommendations for repairs or replacement as needed.
• Develop and maintain relationships with suppliers to ensure that parts are delivered on time and at a competitive price.

Required Skills and Qualifications:

• Degree in Mechanical Engineering or related field.
• Minimum 5 years of experience in maintenance planning and spares management.
• Strong analytical and problem-solving skills.
• Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
• Able to work independently and as part of a team.
