Key Responsibilities:

  • Ensure accurate and timely processing of payroll in accordance with legislations.
  • Manage labour relations, industrial relations activities, and recruitment processes.
  • Administer exit procedures and provide day-to-day support to the Human Resources department.

Payroll Functions:

  • Prepare and distribute salaries in a timely and accurate manner.
  • Administer records for pension, provident funds, medical aid, and other employee benefits.
  • Prepare monthly PAYE/SDL/UIF returns and ensure timely payment with supporting documents submitted to SARS.
  • Maintain and upgrade VIP payroll system as required.
  • Compile monthly leave reports and analyze data.

Industrial Relations Management:

  • Manage relationships with unions and work forums.
  • Investigate and resolve complex industrial relations issues in a timely manner.
  • Initiate internal disciplinary hearings.
  • Represent the company at CDR/CCMA.
  • Advise management on discipline in accordance with company policy and legislation.

Skills Development:

  • Communicate approved learning interventions and training.
  • Review training need analysis document and align it with organizational developmental needs.
  • Ensure implementable training needs within specified WSP period.
  • Communicate WSP and ATRs to internal stakeholders and EE/SD Committee.
  • Monitor WSP/ATR submissions to Seta to meet deadlines.

Recruitment and Selection:

  • Ensure positions are advertised according to procedure and practice.
  • Implement effective recruitment and selection process aligned with business skills, talent, and statutory requirements.
  • Align recruitment with Employment Equity Plan.
  • Ensure all relevant procedures are followed according to recruitment policy.
