Job Summary

The Phlebotomy Specialist will be responsible for performing routine testing functions in blood banks, including compatibility, post-natal, and preliminary transfusion reaction investigations. Key Performance Areas include achieving operational objectives, maintaining laboratory equipment, ensuring quality compliance, and providing excellent customer service.

Responsibilities
  • Achieve Operational Objectives: Meet deadlines, manage workload, and maintain accurate records
  • Instrument and Laboratory Maintenance: Perform routine maintenance, troubleshoot issues, and ensure SOP compliance
  • Quality Compliance: Adhere to SOP specifications, participate in quality control activities, and report any deviations
  • Customer Relations: Provide exceptional service, respond to inquiries, and maintain positive relationships with internal and external stakeholders
Requirements

To be successful in this role, you will need:

  • Overtime as needed
  • Night shifts and weekend duties as rostered
  • Occasional local and national travel

You should possess the following skills and qualifications:

  • General physical health and reasonable endurance
  • Detailed consciousness
  • Proficient eye-sight
  • No color blindness
