Key Responsibilities:

As a Financial Accountant CA(SA) at Smith Garb & Associates, you will be responsible for ensuring compliance with all regulatory requirements. This includes supervising and coordinating financial activities, monitoring and interpreting cash flows, and predicting future trends. You will also be responsible for the regulation and administration of all existing and future projects, developing financial management controls to minimize financial risks, and managing costing of stock.

Reporting:
  • Prepare and review daily sales numbers reports.
  • Calculate and review sales representatives' incentives.
  • Prepare month-end results, ensuring accuracy and completeness.
  • Prepare internal reporting packs.
  • Review and prepare monthly management reporting requirements.
  • Prepare monthly variance analysis and commentary.
  • Prepare forecasts and budgets.
Reconciliations:
  • Review and ensure accuracy of balance sheet reconciliations monthly.
  • Review accounts payable reconciliations monthly.
  • Review accounts receivable reconciliations monthly.
  • Review payroll reconciliations monthly.
Tax, Statutory and Audit:
  • Ensure adherence to all monthly tax and statutory deadlines.
  • Prepare monthly tax computation.
  • Prepare tax computation and submit tax return annually.
  • Address company tax and statutory matters as required.
  • Ensure safe custody and control of assets, financial records, loan collateral, and securities.
  • Coordinate and manage internal and external audit processes.
  • Manage insurance.
Working Capital Management:
  • Review cash position daily and manage working capital requirements.
  • Review and release cashbook and accounts payable payments.
  • Submit weekly cashflow reporting.
  • Manage accounts receivable and accounts payable age analyses.
  • Manage fixed assets.
  • Ensure accurate costing of stock.
  • Measure working capital targets monthly.
  • Liaise with banks and other financial institutions.
Processes and Procedures:
  • Identify and address problems, and develop internal controls to minimize financial risk.
  • Develop and implement standard operating procedures for business cycles.
General:
  • Address ad hoc queries from business and suppliers/customers.
  • Prepare ad hoc analyses and reports as required.
  • Conduct reviews and evaluations for cost-reduction opportunities.

Fluent in English and Afrikaans due to the type of clients. CA(SA) essential.
