**Job Overview**

PKF South Africa is seeking a highly skilled Tax Compliance Officer to join our team. The ideal candidate will possess a strong background in taxation and be able to provide expert guidance on tax compliance matters.

**Key Responsibilities**

  • Prepare and submit income tax returns for Companies, Trusts, and Individuals.
  • Review and respond to income tax assessments for Companies, Trusts, and Individuals.
  • Prepare and submit notices of objections and appeals when required.
  • Apply for reduced assessments in terms of the Tax Administration Act.
  • Request SARS to remit various penalties for entities and tax types.
  • Submit and follow up on requests for reasons when SARS issues assessments without clarification.
  • Attend to registrations - Income tax, VAT, PAYE, Customs (import and export), NPO, PBO, Turnover Tax, Estates, Body Corporates, and Homeowners' Associations.
  • Re-registrations - Income Tax, VAT, PAYE.
  • Manage requests for dormant companies.
  • Prepare tax computations for individuals and trusts.
  • Calculate, complete, and submit provisional, income, and dividend tax returns.
  • Apply for tax clearance certificates.
  • Apply for various tax directives.
  • Prepare and request relevant supporting documents required, including attending to mandatory SARS appointments.
  • Prepare and request relevant supporting documents to appoint or update the public officer.
  • Attend to various SARS correspondence/queries/verifications.
  • Manage SARS applications relating to Application to SARS when an individual has ceased to be a SA tax resident, attend to SARS queries, and calculate possible deemed CGT.
  • Attend to email and telephone queries to and from clients.
  • Administer e-Filing and maintain clients' e-filing profiles.
  • Prepare, complete, and submit IRP5 reconciliations.
  • Maintain the tax database.
  • Tax invoicing.
  • Perform new client take-on procedures.

**Requirements**

  • Tertiary qualification (BCom/BTech in Taxation)
  • Registered tax practitioner (advantageous)
  • 3-5 years related experience
  • Previous experience working within an audit/accounting firm (advantageous)
  • Computer Literate (MS Office; SARS EFiling; GreatSoft Tax)
  • Good Communication Skills
  • Bilingual (Afrikaans and English)

The estimated salary range for this position is R450,000 - R600,000 per annum, depending on experience.
