Recruitment Solutions is excited to announce a Senior Bookkeeper opportunity in Cape Town.

Estimated Salary: R550,000 - R650,000 per annum

Job Description

We are seeking a highly skilled and experienced Senior Bookkeeper to join our finance team. The ideal candidate will have a strong background in financial reporting, budgeting, and financial analysis.

  • Prepare accurate and timely financial statements, including income statements, balance sheets, and cash flow statements.
  • Ensure compliance with Financial Reporting Standards and Generally Accepted Accounting Principles.

Budgeting and Forecasting:

  • Assist in the preparation of annual budgets and forecasts.
  • Monitor actual performance against budget and provide variance analysis.
  • Collaborate with department heads to develop and maintain budgetary controls.

Audit and Compliance:

  • Coordinate and support internal and external audits.
  • Ensure compliance with tax regulations and other financial legislation.
  • Maintain accurate and organized financial records for audit readiness.

Cost Management:

  • Track and analyze costs related to bus operations, maintenance, and administration.
  • Identify opportunities to cost reduction and efficiency improvements.
  • Provide financial insights to support decision-making processes.

Accounts Management:

  • Oversee accounts payable and receivable functions.
  • Ensure timely processing of invoices, payments, and collections.
  • Reconcile bank statements and manage cash flow.

Financial Analysis:

  • Conduct financial analysis to support business decisions and strategic initiatives.
  • Prepare financial models to evaluate investment opportunities and project financial outcomes.
  • Provide regular financial insights and reports to management.
  • Presents financial results and insights to senior management and other stakeholders.
  • Liaise with external stakeholders, including banks, auditors, and tax authorities.

The successful candidate will possess excellent analytical and problem-solving skills, as well as strong attention to detail and accuracy. A Bachelor's degree in Accounting or Finance, along with a professional accounting qualification (CPA, ACCA, CIMA) is preferred. Experience with financial software and advanced Microsoft Excel skills are also essential.
