We are seeking a highly skilled and experienced Front Office Operations Manager to join our team at Merand Corbett & Associates.
About the Role
The successful candidate will be responsible for overseeing the front office operations, ensuring seamless guest experiences, and managing a team of staff members.
Key Responsibilities
- Greeting and Assisting Guests
The Front Office Operations Manager will be the first point of contact for guests, welcoming them with a smile and providing exceptional customer service throughout their stay.
Managing Reservations and Guest InquiriesThe manager will handle all reservations and guest inquiries in a professional and timely manner, ensuring that every guest's needs are met.
Providing Information on Hotel Services and Local AttractionsWith extensive knowledge of the hotel services and local attractions, the Front Office Operations Manager will provide guests with valuable recommendations and information to enhance their stay.
Addressing Guest Needs and ComplaintsIn the event of any issues or complaints, the manager will address these promptly and professionally, ensuring that every guest leaves the hotel satisfied.
Overseeing Housekeeping and Maintenance TeamsThe Front Office Operations Manager will supervise the housekeeping and maintenance teams, ensuring that the hotel is always clean and well-maintained.
Managing Guest Records and BillingThe manager will oversee the management of guest records and billing, ensuring accuracy and timeliness.
Collaborating with Other DepartmentsAs part of the hotel's team, the Front Office Operations Manager will collaborate with other departments to ensure seamless operations and exceptional guest experiences.
Supervising and Training StaffThe manager will supervise and train staff members, including scheduling and performance evaluations.
Maintaining High Standards of Hospitality and CleanlinessThe Front Office Operations Manager will maintain high standards of hospitality and cleanliness, setting an example for the rest of the team.
Assisting with Restaurant Service and Event CoordinationIn addition to front office responsibilities, the manager may also assist with restaurant service and event coordination as needed.
Requirements
- Experience in Hotel Reception or Front Desk
A minimum of 2 years of experience in a hotel reception or front desk role is required.
Excellent Communication and Organisational SkillsThe Front Office Operations Manager must possess excellent communication and organisational skills, with the ability to multitask and prioritise tasks effectively.
Proficient with Hotel Management SoftwareProficiency with hotel management software such as Semper, Night Bridge, Pastel, or MS Office is essential.
Leadership Experience and Ability to Manage a TeamLeadership experience and the ability to manage a team are crucial for this role.
Flexible Hours, Including Weekends and HolidaysThe Front Office Operations Manager must be willing to work flexible hours, including weekends and holidays, to meet the needs of the hotel.
Fluent in English (Additional Languages a Plus)Fluency in English is essential, with additional languages being a plus.
Strong Knowledge of Stellenbosch and Surrounding AreasA strong knowledge of Stellenbosch and surrounding areas is desirable.
Own Transport and Good HealthThe manager must have their own transport and be in good health.
Experience in Restaurant Front-of-House, Payroll, and Accounting a PlusExperience in restaurant front-of-house, payroll, and accounting is a plus.
