Main Responsibilities
  1. Design and deliver an over-arching industrial relations strategy with a focus on modernising Trade Union relationships
  2. Develop and maintain relationships with senior Trade Union officials
  3. Support the Head of HR, People Business Partners, and line managers in negotiations with Trade Unions on company-wide issues
  4. Develop and implement IR policies, processes, and tools to drive required changes across the organisation
  5. Provide strategic direction, create policies, and offer expert advice on collective bargaining and corporate-wide industrial relations
  6. Negotiate mandates for use across all bargaining groups
  7. Build IR skills and expertise within the People department, including capabilities in employment legislation and industrial agreements
  8. Coordinate and integrate IR activity across the business into a cohesive plan
  9. Support and drive cultural and behavioural change necessary for corporate IR programmes
  10. Develop and maintain relationships with external networks and share best practices in Industrial Relations
  11. Provide a dedicated IR advisory service to management, line managers, and employees
  12. Ensure compliance with Labour Legislation, including the Skills Development Act, Labour Relations Act, Employment Equity Act, and Compensation for Occupational Health & Safety Act
Minimum Requirements:
  1. Relevant tertiary qualification in HR/IR (NQF level 6)
  2. Experience presenting in the Labour Court
  3. 5-10 years of IR experience
  4. Extensive knowledge, experience, and understanding of IR within a South African context
  5. Computer literacy
  6. Excellent knowledge of current Labour Law
  7. Demonstrated experience of the CCMA and Labour Court
