Job Title: Epidemiology Specialist

We are seeking a highly skilled Epidemiology Specialist to join our team at Jhpiego.

About the Job

This is an exciting opportunity for a seasoned epidemiologist to lead and manage NMC data, contribute to surveillance efforts, and train healthcare professionals.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Lead NMC data management and contribute to surveillance efforts to understand trends in outbreaks and notifiable medical conditions.
  • Train surveillance officers, epidemiologists, and healthcare workers on NMC and develop SOPs.
  • Deliver scheduled trainings as per training plans and build relationships with collaborating institutions.
  • Participate in meetings and calls with partners and collaborators.
  • Provide epidemiological support in research protocols, grant proposals, and dissemination of results.
  • Write and submit reports, scientific papers, and presentations to relevant meetings.
Requirements

To be successful in this role, you will need:

  • A Master's degree in Epidemiology or MPH with field epidemiology training specialization.
  • A valid driver's license.
  • Knowledge of epidemiology and statistical methods.
  • Experience with Notifiable Medical Conditions.
  • High-level computer literacy and competence with data management programs (Excel, Access, SQL).
  • Knowledge of statistical analysis programs (Stata, R) and GIS.
  • Excellent interpersonal and written/verbal communication skills.
  • Leadership and management skills.
  • Problem-solving and time management skills.
