Job Summary

We are seeking a highly skilled Customs Product Director to lead our customs product in the marketplace.

About Us

At Black Tie Recruit, we understand the importance of having a strong customs product in place to ensure smooth operations, finance management, sales growth, and employee development.

Key Responsibilities

  • People Management: Train, motivate, challenge, and mentor other employees to ensure they have the skills and knowledge required to excel in their roles.
  • Employee Development: Conduct annual reviews, create personal development plans, and set up training programs to support employee growth and retention.
  • Operations Management: Ensure all duty/VAT unbilled, classification instructions for shipments, customs permits, and documentation are valid and updated accordingly.
  • Customer Management: Make regular calls to customers to ensure satisfaction, report sales and retention activities, and issue customs proposals.
  • Finance Management: Follow up on customs guarantees, refunds with customs authorities, and AR reports to ensure accurate financial management.
  • Compliance: Promote compliance with company policies and regulations, communicate with the team, and maintain a positive relationship with the Trade Compliance Manager.
  • Systems Management: Promote productivity tools, implement new system changes, and manage customs systems to improve efficiency and productivity.

Requirements

  • Education: Minimum 3-5 years of experience in customs brokerage, including at least 2-3 years in a management level position.
  • Skills: Effective interpersonal skills, Microsoft Office skills (Excel, Word, etc.), proactive organizational skills, fluency in English, negotiation skills, problem-solving skills, and leadership attitude.

Benefits

  • Salary: $85,000 - $110,000 per year, depending on location and experience.
  • Training Requirements: Meet company standards of 52 hours of training per year, including management/leadership training as needed.
