Rigging Assistant

We are seeking a skilled and experienced Rigging Assistant to join our team at Sappi's Mill Ngodwana in Mpumalanga. As a key member of our operations team, you will play a critical role in ensuring the safe and efficient execution of rigging tasks.
Key Responsibilities :- Assist Riggers with breakdowns and opportunity maintenance, identifying and mitigating potential risks to ensure seamless operation.
- Take out work permits according to Sappi's policy, adhering to strict safety protocols.
- Perform 60-second risk assessments as per Sappi's policy, guaranteeing a proactive approach to workplace safety.
- Maintain good housekeeping practices, ensuring a clutter-free and organized work environment.
- Work overtime and perform standby duties as required, demonstrating flexibility and adaptability.
- Communicate effectively with riggers and artisans during rigging operations, fostering a collaborative team spirit.
- Create a safe working environment by identifying and managing risks associated with tasks to be performed, promoting a culture of safety excellence.
- Transport equipment within the workplace, utilizing mechanical aids when necessary.
- Execute assigned scheduled and/or planned maintenance tasks, contributing to the overall efficiency of the mill.
- Relevant Grade 12 / Matric / N3 qualification with Mathematics and Science.
- Previous experience in rigging, ideally in a similar industrial setting.
- A valid driver's license, essential for transporting equipment and personnel.
R 250,000 - R 350,000 per annum, based on location and industry standards. A competitive salary package that reflects your skills and experience will be discussed during the hiring process.
