Job Summary:

We are seeking an experienced Logistics Material Handling Engineer to join our team at Profile Personnel. This is a challenging and rewarding role that will see you working on a variety of logistics projects, from planning and designing material handling facilities to coordinating with suppliers and managing budgets.

About the Role:

In this role, you will be responsible for planning, designing, developing, and introducing logistics material handling systems and facilities. This includes analyzing requirements, preparing detailed layouts and drawings, conceiving and designing facilities, and procuring equipment and materials. You will also work closely with suppliers to evaluate quotations, negotiate contracts, and manage budgets.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Project Planning: Plan and prepare detailed logistics material flow concepts in production and warehouse environments for optimum solutions.
  • Design and Development: Prepare detailed layouts, drawings, and job specifications for specialized facilities, including stillages, pallets, dunnage, trolleys, racking, general storage facilities, and packaging.
  • Procurement and Contract Management: Conceive, design, and procure logistics facilities, including evaluating adjudicated quotations, negotiating with suppliers, and managing budgets.
  • Budget Management: Prepare appropriation requests to justify capital expenditure and prepare budget prices to be used for corporate investment programs, cost studies, localization, and export projects.

Requirements:

To be successful in this role, you will need a degree or national diploma in industrial engineering, mechanical engineering, logistics, or purchasing. You will also require 3 years' experience in logistics processes within a manufacturing environment, as well as at least 18 months' experience in project management.

Essential Skills:

  • Analytical and Problem-Solving Skills: Sound analytical and problem-solving skills, with the ability to operate independently and under pressure.
  • Communication and Interpersonal Skills: Good written and verbal communication skills, with the ability to work effectively with cross-functional teams.
  • Technical Skills: Proficiency with producing, understanding, and interpreting 3D CAD drawings, as well as full computer literacy in Microsoft packages, Outlook, Teams, PowerPoint, and Word.

Preferred Qualifications:

  • Experience in Automotive Manufacturing Environment: Experience working in an automotive manufacturing environment would be highly beneficial.
  • SAP Systems in Supply Chain Management: Experience with SAP systems in supply chain management would be advantageous.
  • German Language Proficiency: German language proficiency would be a valuable asset.

Salary Range: R500,000 - R700,000 per annum
