Job Summary:
  • We are seeking a reliable and trustworthy Transport Operations Assistant to join our team at the Depot.
Key Responsibilities:
  • Ensure all vehicles are in roadworthy condition and report any errors.
  • Check trailers and report any errors before vehicles leave the depot.
  • Ensure vehicles are full of diesel.
  • Responsible for checking all recliner equipment at Wellington depot.
  • Report any abnormalities to operations support immediately.
  • Ensure vehicle and depot windows are closed, and keys are with security.
Additional Duties:
  • Checking equipment and tools and reporting irregularities.
  • Issuing tools and equipment and keeping a register of them.
  • Performing manual labor tasks such as opening, closing, nailing, sewing, marking, tying, filling or emptying containers.
  • Assisting with loading or unloading containers.
  • Sealing or opening messages, packages, letters or goods and delivering or transporting them.
  • Carrying, lifting, pulling, packing, unpacking, repacking, stacking, rolling, coiling, moving, loading, unloading or unpacking goods, containers, packages or vehicles.
  • Pasting labels on goods or marking them with a brand, stamp or stencil.
  • Packaging, wrapping or tying up goods.
  • Looking after motor vehicles, goods or cargo on motor vehicles.
  • Repairing packing cases, boxes, crates or pallets by hand.
  • Applying paint or anti-rust agents by hand to goods, trailers or lean-tos.
  • Removing, replacing, changing or inflating wheels or outer or inner tires of motor vehicles, backhoes, mobile lifting devices, trailers, lean-tos, bicycles, wheelbarrows, trolleys or other hand vehicles.
  • Keeping the grounds clean and tidy at all times.
