Key Responsibilities:
- Evaluate and prepare applications for funding, ensuring alignment with departmental objectives and funding program goals.
- Conduct financial, technical, and marketing due diligence functions for individual and cluster applications.
- Identify and mitigate risks associated with applications.
- Provide strategic advice, support, and guidance to our programs and stakeholders.
- Develop and implement strategies to drive departmental strategic objectives.
- Manage end-to-end application and submission processes.
- Evaluate applications for finance, including financial, technical, and marketing disciplines.
- Conduct and/or manage due diligence on applications in line with our department's standard procedures.
- Design and negotiate financial and legal relationships between clients and our organization.
- Support the development and implementation of strategies or action plans to drive departmental strategic objectives.
- Prepare well-written and motivated reports for presentation to approval panels.
- Conduct peer reviews on due diligence disciplines.
- Monitor deals post-implementation, reporting on progress and any other required information.
- Train, mentor, and coach account managers.
- Provide guidance to business analysts and dealmakers on handling enquiries, applications, and submissions, as well as post-investment activities.
Requirements:
- Minimum qualification: relevant commercial honors degree.
- Additional qualifications, such as CA, MBA/MBL, would be an advantage.
- 8-10 years of related experience, with 8 years in deal assessment and closing transactions.
- Declared competent or working towards three due diligence disciplines (marketing, technical, and financial).
- Knowledge in assessing associated issues in transactions (legal, risks, etc.).
- Experience in peer reviews, complex financial modeling, and interpretation of financial statements.
- Knowledge of the process and assessment of the market environment and technology landscape.
- Knowledge of financing instruments (grants and concessional funding structures).
- Understanding of review and assessment of feasibility of proposed financial structures.
- Experience in presenting applications for approval to investment committees.
- Negotiation of legal agreements and implementation thereof.
- Competent in coaching and mentoring of team members.
