Job Overview

We are seeking an experienced Programme Director to lead our ICT programme, focusing on Game Development, Cyber Security, Autonomous Networking, and IoT.

About the Role

This is a key leadership position that requires expertise in curriculum development, faculty administration, and academic governance. The ideal candidate will have a strong background in at least 3 areas: game development; cybersecurity; autonomous networks; AI and machine learning; robotics and automation; IoT and sensor networks; and edge and cloud computing.

Responsibilities
  • Review, develop, and implement curriculum, syllabus, and material for designated programmes or modules.
  • Manage faculty administration as delegated by the Head of Faculty.
  • Maintain effective interaction between the faculty/department and sites of delivery for particular programmes.
  • Identify, monitor, and brief programme developers on quality assurance of their work.
  • Set and monitor minimum standards for delivery and assessment, including management of academic incidents related to assessment.
  • Track student performance, plan interventions, and address problems in cooperation with trading division national offices.
  • Manage moderators in consultation with the trading division and moderate assessments within the faculty.
  • Promote academic standards and capacity building on campus and personally commit to keeping up-to-date.
  • Demonstrate commitment to IIE policies' development, implementation, and monitoring.
  • Build capacity on sites of delivery, prepare peer lectures, and seminars focusing on diverse student bodies.
  • Participate in IIE/faculty activities, particularly seminars and workshops.
Requirements
  • A Master's degree in computer science/game development/networking/electronics/mechatronics or a related discipline at NQF level 9 (PhD preferred).
  • Strong background in at least 3 areas: game development; cybersecurity; autonomous networks; AI and machine learning; robotics and automation; IoT and sensor networks; and edge and cloud computing.
Experience
  • At least three years of lecturing experience (full or part-time) in a public or private higher education provider.
  • Experience in writing curriculum, materials, and assessment of student learning.
  • Understanding of the HE regulatory environment and the NQF.
  • Work experience in enterprise architecture development, AI, automation, data science, or digital transformation would be advantageous.

The estimated salary range for this position is R1,200,000 - R1,500,000 per annum, based on location and industry standards.
