Logistics and freight forwarding are complex industries, requiring professionals who can navigate their intricacies with ease. As a Business Development Executive at RecruiTech (Pty) Ltd, you will play a vital role in driving sales growth and expansion within the company's logistics division.

About the Role

This is an excellent opportunity for experienced sales professionals to join our team and contribute to the success of one of South Africa's leading logistics companies. The ideal candidate will have a strong background in clearing and forwarding sales, with a proven track record of achieving sales targets.

Responsibilities
  • Facilitate Credit Application Processing: Ensure seamless credit application processing, ensuring that customers receive timely support and attention.
  • Implement Sales Strategy: Develop and implement effective sales strategies to meet and exceed sales performance targets.
  • Cost Freight Movements: Accurately cost freight movements and prepare service estimates as required.
  • Interface with Strategic Customers: Foster strong relationships with existing strategic customers, ensuring mutual expectations of performance and growth are met.
  • Maintain Client Records: Maintain accurate and up-to-date client record information, ensuring easy access to customer data.
  • Provide Quarterly Results Assessments: Regularly assess sales activities and provide quarterly results assessments to stakeholders.
  • Acquire New Business: Identify new business opportunities and develop strategies to acquire new clients.
  • Open Business Development Dialogs: Engage in open and transparent business development dialogs with strategic customers.
  • Comply with Quality Management Requirements: Ensure adherence to the quality management system requirements, maintaining the highest standards of quality and excellence.
Requirements
  • Matric Certificate: A minimum Matric certificate is required.
  • Sales and Marketing Qualification: A 3-year sales and marketing related qualification at NQF Level 5 is essential.
  • Clearing and Forwarding Sales Experience: Proven experience in clearing and forwarding sales is mandatory.
Skills Required
  • Progressive Sales Experience: A minimum of 5 years' progressive sales executive experience is required.
  • Solid Sales Track Record: A solid 5-year sales track record within clearing and forwarding is essential.
  • Strong Consultative Selling Skills: Excellent consultative selling skills, with the ability to build strong relationships with customers.
  • Strong Communication Skills: Excellent communication skills, with the ability to effectively communicate with customers, colleagues, and stakeholders.
  • Negotiation Skills: Strong negotiation skills, with the ability to negotiate effectively with customers and suppliers.
  • Comprehensive Understanding of Sales and Marketing Principles: A comprehensive understanding of sales and marketing principles, with the ability to apply this knowledge in a practical setting.
  • Good Knowledge of International Trade Principles: Good knowledge of international trade principles, including Inco terms and tariff calculation concepts.
  • Air and Sea Freight Forwarding Knowledge: Comprehensive knowledge of air and sea freight forwarding practices and procedures.
Estimated Salary Range:

R400,000 - R600,000 per annum, depending on experience and qualifications.
