Administrative Coordinator for High-Level Events

The U.S. Embassy South Africa is seeking a highly skilled Administrative Coordinator to support the organization and management of major representational events.

Job Description

The incumbent will work under the supervision of the Senior Protocol Assistant and collaborate with the Ambassador and Deputy Chief of Mission's Office Management Specialists to organize and manage events such as official receptions, lunches, dinners, and other functions hosted by high-ranking officials.

This role requires excellent coordination skills, as the incumbent will need to work closely with various staff members across different sections and residences. The ideal candidate will possess a strong understanding of protocol guidelines, general etiquette, and social aspects of the political structure and situation in South Africa.

A minimum of three years of progressively responsible work experience in public relations, office, and/or event management is required. Fluency in English is essential, and proficiency in Microsoft Office is necessary for preparing documents, invitations, and spreadsheets.

The successful candidate will be able to demonstrate considerable tact and political sensitivity, working with high-level officials on a daily basis. They must also be well-organized, attentive to detail, and willing to work flexible schedules, including evenings and weekends, as well as travel occasionally within the country.

Salary

The estimated salary for this position is R550,000 - R650,000 per annum, based on the location and requirements specified.
