Leading Finance Director for Mining Project

Our client, AGC Mining Recruitment Pty Ltd, is seeking a seasoned Finance Director to join one of their mining projects based in the Northern Cape. This pivotal role requires an experienced leader to effectively plan, direct, and coordinate all financial activities within the organization.
About the Role- The incumbent is responsible for leading the finance team and planning, directing, and coordinating all financial-related activities of the organization.
Key Responsibilities:
- Plan and direct financial activities to ensure effective management of resources.
- Ensure good control over capex spend/financial modelling for Projects.
- Design, develop, implement and coordinate finance control systems, policies and procedures.
- Drive overall cost control, as well as department budgets, ensuring efficient and cost-effective service delivery.
- Ensure proper accounting of all capital expenditure, timely capitalization and depreciation of assets.
- Prepare project proposals with the help of various financial modelling tools and develop sound recommendations for management decisions.
- Preparations of forecasts, actual expenditure, cash flow and variance analysis.
- Participate and value add during contract negotiations and contract finalisation.
Requirements:
- Relevant tertiary qualification (or equivalent) e.g. B Com.
- Highly advantageous: Qualified CA.
- Minimum of 8 years relevant experience, with minimum of 3 years' experience at management level in a mining / construction / project's environment.
- Knowledge of applicable legislation.
The successful candidate will be responsible for managing a team and ensuring the smooth operation of financial activities. The estimated salary range for this position is between R1,200,000 - R1,800,000 per annum, depending on experience.
