About the Role

We are seeking a highly skilled Marketing & Business Development Coordinator to join our dynamic team in Johannesburg, South Africa. As a key member of our Africa Marketing & Business Development team, you will play a critical role in delivering and implementing our Africa strategy, driving revenue growth, and deepening client relationships.

Key Responsibilities
  • Support the development and delivery of marketing and communication activities that contribute to the delivery of our Africa strategy, with a focus on our sector programme.
  • Work with partners, lawyers, and the DLA Piper Africa marketing team to develop business across Africa, including developing and supporting BD programmes for key sectors and client accounts.
  • Provide guidance to our DLA Piper Africa office marketing colleagues on the implementation of client targeting initiatives and help ensure our BD messages are consistent across capability statements and proposal content.
  • Undertake market research to support various targeting initiatives and work with other marketing colleagues to ensure BD strategies and messaging are shared between aligned teams across Africa, across our practice groups, and sectors.
  • Support the implementation and use across Africa of supporting marketing infrastructure and tools, including maintaining Africa-related content on the DLA Piper website and ensuring Africa-related content is kept up to date on our automated pitch systems.
About You

We are looking for a highly motivated and experienced Marketing & Business Development Coordinator who can demonstrate strong commercial awareness, a consistently positive attitude, and excellent written and verbal communication skills. You should be able to work well on your own initiative and as part of a wider team, with a collaborative working style and a sound understanding of professional marketing approaches, new business issues, sales, and pitch processes within the legal sector.

You should have proven experience working in a virtual team environment, excellent interpersonal skills, and the ability to exercise tact and diplomacy. You should also be able to demonstrate experience in dealing with a demanding workload and conflicting priorities, as well as the ability to multi-task and work to deadlines.
