Business Intelligence Analyst: Regulatory Specialist

Job Summary

We are seeking a highly skilled Business Intelligence Analyst to join our team at Nedbank. The successful candidate will be responsible for providing specific insights into the functions of the Nedbank Group to enable informed decision-making at all levels.

Key Responsibilities
  • Conduct research by undertaking and documenting feasibility and impact studies.
  • Create a proposed solution based on the Business Requirements Definition (BRD).
  • Produce a High-Level Design (HLD) using the BRD.
  • Deliver the final solution by obtaining customer acceptance and sign-off.
  • Identify and recommend opportunities to enhance processes, systems, and policies.
  • Engage with clients to agree on proposed solutions.
  • Conduct regular feedback sessions with developers to ensure alignment with technical specifications.
  • Build collaborative relationships by assisting the team with resolving technical issues.
  • Communicate new or changed solutions to customers.
  • Ensure work is completed on time by adhering to deadlines.
  • Gather and document business requirements by facilitating information gathering sessions with customers.
  • Produce technical specification documents by identifying and analyzing relevant data sources, documenting and applying business rules, creating dimensional models, and cube designs.
  • Explain designs to front- and back-end developers by facilitating technical sessions.
  • Produce report and dashboard specification documents by engaging with clients and developers.
  • Ensure the quality of output and alignment to requirements by conducting or coordinating unit, integration, and user acceptance testing.
  • Ensure compliance by adhering to standards, policies, and procedures throughout the development lifecycle.
  • Stay up-to-date with legislation and industry changes that impact the role.
  • Understand and embody the Nedbank vision and demonstrate the values through interaction with the team and stakeholders.
  • Improve personal capability and stay current with developments in the field of expertise.
  • Ensure personal growth and effectiveness in the performance of roles and responsibilities.
Requirements
  • 2-3 years' experience in IT, BI, or a data environment.
Qualifications
  • Matric / Grade 12 / National Senior Certificate.
Preferred Qualifications
  • Diploma, Certificate, or Bachelor of Science in Information Technology.
Preferred Certifications
  • Certification in a STEM-related field or data-related field.
Technical / Professional Knowledge
  • Administrative procedures and systems.
  • Stakeholder management.
  • SQL - practical skills (intermediate).
  • Business principles.
  • Business terms and definitions.
  • Communication strategies.
