SAP Data Engineer Role

Job Description
The successful candidate will be responsible for designing, developing, and maintaining data pipelines using SAP tools such as SAP BW/4HANA, SAP Data Services, and SAP HANA. They will work closely with cross-functional teams to integrate SAP data with other data platforms, ensuring smooth data flow and availability for analytics and reporting.

Key Responsibilities
  • Design, develop, and manage scalable data pipelines using SAP tools.
  • Collaborate with cross-functional teams to integrate SAP data with other data platforms.
  • Work closely with data architects to design robust, scalable data solutions aligned with best practices and business requirements.
  • Build and optimize complex data models in SAP environments to enable efficient data storage, access, and analysis.
  • Implement data quality checks, validation processes, and governance practices to ensure data accuracy, integrity, and compliance.
  • Monitor and tune the performance of data extraction, transformation, and loading (ETL) processes to meet system performance and data processing requirements.

Requirements
The ideal candidate will have a strong background in SAP data tools and technologies, as well as a deep understanding of data architecture and engineering best practices. The following qualifications are required:
  • Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, Data Engineering, or a related field (Master's degree preferred).
  • Minimum of 3-5 years of experience in a data engineering role, with a focus on SAP data tools and platforms.
  • Proficiency in SAP data platforms, including SAP HANA, SAP BW/4HANA, SAP Data Services, and SAP Data Intelligence.
  • Strong SQL and ETL development skills, with experience in data extraction, transformation, and integration.
  • Knowledge of cloud platforms (e.g., AWS, Azure, GCP) and experience integrating SAP data into cloud environments.
  • Experience with data modeling, data warehousing concepts, and building optimized data structures for analytics.
  • Familiarity with data governance, data quality standards, and data security best practices.

Salary
R1,200,000 - R1,800,000 per annum depending on experience.
