Financial Administrator for DHET Projects and Grants

About the Role:

We are seeking a highly skilled Financial Administrator to provide financial administrative support for DHET projects and grants. This role involves seamless coordination, efficient management, and effective reporting within the University's financial systems.

Main Objectives:
  • To administer the accounting and administration of DHET UCDP grants and projects, with additional responsibilities as required.
  • To perform tasks including creation, maintenance, monitoring, and financial reporting of projects within the University's financial systems.
Requirements:
  • A Grade 12 certificate plus a pass in Accountancy or a post-matric higher certificate/diploma in Accounting with at least 4 years of relevant experience.
  • National Diploma or higher qualification in Financial Accounting or similar field is a distinct advantage.
  • Strong analytical skills, with the ability to analyze accounts, identify problems, and recommend corrections/journals.
  • Excellent communication and organizational skills, with the ability to produce information for financial and related reporting purposes.
  • Demonstrated knowledge of the procure-to-pay process, from purchase order to delivery to payment.
  • Advanced level of Excel and proficiency in working within a computerized accounting environment.
  • Experience working in a Higher Education environment and on an ERP (Enterprise Resource Planning) Financial System such as Oracle Cloud or SAP is an advantage.
Estimated Salary:

R1,200,000 per annum, depending on qualifications and experience.
