Job Description

We are seeking an experienced Air Product Manager to join our team at TrudyQ Consulting.

This is a fantastic opportunity to develop your skills and expertise in Air Import & Export. As a key member of our Cape Town Management Team, you will be responsible for further developing the Air Import & Export product in the market place through focus on operations, finances, sales, people, and culture.

About You

  • You hold a relevant tertiary qualification (advantageous)
  • You have 5+ years of experience in an Air Product Management role
  • You possess 5+ years of global logistics industry working experience and knowledge, specifically in Air Imports & Exports and preferably within the Freight Forwarding Industry
  • You have previous management experience and a sound understanding of all operational, finance, and commercial support processes
  • You are fully computer literate in all MS Office Suite applications (Excel – advanced)
  • You own a vehicle and have a valid driver's license

Your Key Responsibilities

  • Review and support with day-to-day quotations
  • Support the product by checking local charges and agreement quotes to ensure minimization of potential branch losses
  • Hold thorough knowledge of air import products, including Breakbulk, Gateway, and Pricing knowledge
  • Plan and support with huddles and monthly meetings to discuss market intelligence and delegate workloads within the team
  • Attend weekly branch sales meetings and facilitate discussions on Air imports & exports with market updates and trends
  • Take an active role in the transition of new business/updates to existing business
  • Grow department revenue in line with budget target and management expectations
  • Support internal financial reports to ensure that the Air Import department is showing clean financial accounting throughout all financial reports
  • Maintain a positive relationship with the Trade Compliance Manager and support all compliance efforts and trainings
  • Be open to implementing new system changes and enhancements
  • Be involved and suggest system/process improvements
  • Review and conduct staff appraisals and one-to-one meetings timely in line with the 3+1 Initiative
  • Assist supervisors and key staff with goal setting and monitoring development

About the Role

The estimated annual salary for this position is between $80,000 and $120,000, depending on qualifications and experience. In return, this opportunity will offer an attractive remuneration package that includes full Company Medical Aid, contribution towards Retirement Annuity, and monthly management profit share.
