Job Title: Entomologist / IPM Manager

About the Role:

Silk Road Consulting (Pty) Ltd is seeking a skilled Entomologist / IPM Manager to join our team. The successful candidate will be responsible for controlling and reporting on the IPM of our group's farms, as well as assessing, evaluating and managing IPM strategies.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Develop and implement effective IPM strategies to minimize damage from pests and diseases.
  • Conduct regular scouting and monitoring to identify potential pest issues.
  • Collaborate with the Production Manager to ensure compliance with export market regulations.
  • Provide training and support to farm staff on IPM best practices.
  • Monitor and report on pest management activities and their impact on crop yields.

Requirements:

  • BSc Agricultural degree in Entomology or related field.
  • Strong knowledge of IPM principles and practices.
  • Experience with crop protection and fertilizing management.
  • Understanding of MRL requirements and export compliance regulations.
  • Citrus and Mango experience is an advantage.
