Job Overview:

We are seeking an exceptional Veterinary Operations Director to lead our 24-hour animal hospital in the Boland Area. The ideal candidate will have a proven track record in managing veterinary practices, ensuring seamless daily operations and exceptional patient care.

Estimated Salary Range: $80,000 - $120,000 per annum

Key Responsibilities:

  • Staff Management:
    • Recruitment and Training: Screen and train hospital staff, including veterinary technicians, administrative staff, and support personnel.
    • Scheduling and Performance Evaluations: Create and manage staff schedules to ensure adequate coverage for a 24-hour operation, conduct regular performance evaluations, and provide ongoing training and development opportunities.
    • Team Culture and Conflict Resolution: Foster a positive and collaborative work environment, promoting teamwork and effective communication, and address and resolve any staff conflicts or issues promptly and professionally.
  • Operational Management:
    • Compliance and Policy Implementation: Oversee daily operations of the hospital, ensuring compliance with veterinary regulations and standards, implement and maintain hospital policies and procedures to ensure a high standard of care and service, and coordinate and oversee maintenance and cleanliness of hospital facilities.
    • Quality Assurance and Monitoring: Ensure the highest standards of veterinary care and patient safety are maintained at all times, implement and monitor quality assurance programs and protocols, and stay current with industry developments and advancements in veterinary medicine and hospital management.
  • Client Relations:
    • Customer Service and Feedback: Ensure exceptional customer service, addressing client inquiries and concerns promptly and courteously, manage client feedback, and implement improvements to enhance client satisfaction.
  • Emergency Preparedness:
    • Protocol Development and Staff Training: Develop and implement emergency protocols for handling urgent and critical cases, ensure staff is trained and prepared for emergency situations, maintaining a calm and efficient response.

Requirements:

  • Bachelor's degree in Business Administration, Veterinary Technology, or a related field; experience in Veterinary Practice Management preferred.
  • Minimum of 3-5 years of experience in a management role within a veterinary or healthcare setting.
  • Strong leadership and team management skills with the ability to motivate and develop staff.
  • Excellent organizational and multitasking abilities.
  • Strong communication and interpersonal skills.
  • Proficiency in AVIMARK and other relevant technology.
  • Knowledge of veterinary regulations and standards of care.
  • Compassion for animals and a commitment to providing exceptional care.
