Job Title: Veterinary Diagnostic Pathologist

About the Role:

We are seeking a skilled and experienced Anatomic Pathologist to join our team at IDEXX. As a Veterinary Diagnostic Pathologist, you will be responsible for providing accurate and timely diagnostic services to clients.

Main Responsibilities:

  • Meet caseload and turnaround expectations by conducting thorough examinations and reporting results in a timely manner.
  • Provide telephone consultations to clients regarding their cases, offering expert advice and guidance.
  • Collaborate with other pathologists as needed to promote a culture of collegiality and shared knowledge.
  • Interact with laboratory personnel to ensure proper specimen processing techniques and provide support as needed.
  • Promote business growth through active participation in pathologist meetings and development of professional relationships with clients.
  • Participate in quality control programs to ensure accuracy and consistency in diagnostic services.
  • Maintain proficiency and develop diagnostic skills through regular continuing education.
  • Engage in other professional activities approved by management to improve the function or reputation of IDEXX.

What You'll Need to Succeed:

  • A Doctor of Veterinary Medicine (DVM) or equivalent degree is required.
  • Board certification from the American College of Veterinary Pathology (ACVP) or European College of Veterinary Pathology (ECVP) is preferred.
  • Familiarity with current topics and issues in clinical veterinary medicine is essential.
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills are necessary for success in this role.
  • The ability to work independently on routine tasks with minimal guidance is also required.
  • Experience in a veterinary diagnostic laboratory is highly desirable.
  • Some experience in a diagnostic field, preferably surgical pathology, is advantageous.
  • A service-oriented attitude and strong organizational skills are necessary for managing workload and priorities.
  • Computer literacy is essential for navigating laboratory information systems and generating reports.

Estimated Salary: $120,000 - $150,000 per year, depending on experience and qualifications.
