Strategic Sales Manager

Are you an experienced sales professional looking for a new challenge in the renewable energy sector? Vestas, a leading company in the field of wind energy, is seeking a Sales Director to join our sales team to work on complex energy infrastructure projects.
The ideal candidate will have a background in sales management, with a minimum of 7 years of experience in the energy industry or a related field. A Master's degree in engineering or business is preferred, as well as solid sales experience and good negotiation skills.
As a Sales Director, you will be responsible for identifying new business opportunities, building and growing sales pipelines, and managing sales projects from origination to close. You will also need to ensure that key performance indicators (KPIs) for order intake, revenue, margins, and customer satisfaction are met.

Responsibilities
- Identify new business opportunities through customer, competitor, and market understanding
- Build and grow sales pipelines
- Manage and deliver sales projects, sales process, deal review, and tender responses internally and externally
- Negotiate projects to contract completion
- Ensure KPIs for order intake, revenue, margins, and customer satisfaction are met
- Know, navigate, and succeed in the market
- Organise, coach, and oversee cross-functional deals teams through the team selling concept
Qualifications
- Background of minimum 7 years of similar experience in the energy industry, machinery, construction, or related environment, large infrastructure projects, or large manufactured products
- Preferably, Master's degree in engineering or business
- Solid sales proven history
- Solid drive and business insight
- Good negotiation skills and possess the ability to create a win-win situation
- Ability to build up relationships with customers
- Collaboration and sharing of resources to the benefit of the entity. Experience from working in a matrix set-up would be a valuable asset.
Competencies
- The ideal candidate will be an experienced executive with proven sales and business experience, ideally gained in a business of similar complexity covering multiple locations in the energy sector.
