Maintenance Technician

**Key Performance Area of Responsibilities**
**Repairs and Maintenance**
- Planning, implementing and controlling of the activity maintenance schedule on all machinery and equipment.
- Monitors and improves maintenance processes to achieve enhanced levels of efficiency.
- Ensuring that preventive maintenance on all machinery and equipment & electrical units are scheduled and accomplished.
- Recording and controlling of daily maintenance activity as per schedule.
- Ensuring that emergency troubleshooting and maintenance support are readily available as needed.
- Ensuring that all electrical equipment is in safe working order in line with current regulations.
- Identify and recording of problems and / or potential problems through daily plant walkabouts.
- Assessing all working machinery and plan downtime for repair or replacement.
- Plan and prepare machine stoppage with Production Manager to avoid unnecessary down time and /or equipment damage.
- Stop the machine if it appears to endanger safety and quality of the processed product.
- **Machinery & Equipment**:
- Co-ordinate and maintain the company asset register of all equipment and machinery within the plant.
- Accurate record keeping and control of all machinery and equipment.
- Ensuring that all equipment is accurately marked according to the asset register.
- Inspecting the plant and mechanical and electrical units and ensuring machine maintenance.
- Operating the equipment according to the SOP’s and adhering to safe working practices always.
- Maintaining and safe keeping of the spare parts and equipment and machinery according to good maintenance practice.
**Health and Safety**
- Implementing, maintaining and complying with health and safety environment.
- Ensuring that certificate of compliance is maintained and up to date in accordance with the relevant legislation.
- Comply with safety, health and environmental procedures and legislation.
- Maintain safety and housekeeping standards within the workshop and plant.
- Maintain housekeeping standards in area of operation.
- Identification and monitoring of unsafe practises.
**General**
- Participating in production meetings to ensure smooth running of operations in terms of machinery and equipment.
- Running a preventative maintenance program to ensure high level of productivity.
- Ensuring plant reliability always and avoid down time due to machinery.
- Plan and conduct daily walk about schedules of the plant and monitoring of machinery.
- Accurate record keeping of machine downtime and avoidance plan.
- Optimizes Plant and Equipment availability and reliability
- Reports
- Record of all repairs done.
- Asset register listing.

- Record of all spares and parts.
- Record of all maintenance tools.
