IT Support Technician

**Location**: The Boulevard, 1st Floor, 19 Park Lane, Umhlanga Ridge, KwaZulu Natal, Durban, South Africa, 4320

**Duration**:

- Migration: 13th May, 9:00 am to 17:00 pm (8 hrs)
- Hypercare: 14th May, 09:00 to 13:00 (5 hrs)

**Description**:
**Responsibilities**:

- Conducting IT system migrations according to project timelines and guidelines.
- Setting up and configuring laptops, including console ports and USB pen drives.
- Installing and configuring access points (AP) using drilling equipment and ladders as required.
- Testing cables and connections to ensure functionality.
- Providing hypercare support on the day following the migration to address any issues or concerns.
- Collaborating with team members and stakeholders to ensure the success of the migration project.

**Requirements**:

- Proven experience in IT system migrations and support.
- Proficiency in setting up and configuring laptops and networking equipment.
- Familiarity with tools such as console cables, cable testers, crimping tools, and drilling equipment.
- Ability to work efficiently both independently and as part of a team.
- Strong problem-solving skills and attention to detail.
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.

**Tools and Equipment Required**:

- Laptop with console port
- Console cable
- USB pen drive (fat 32 format)
- Own internet arrangement
- Drilling machine for AP installation
- Ladder (minimum 4m)
- Spare RJ45 connectors (4 nos.)
- Crimping and Corning tool (in case required)
- Cable tester
- Other usual tools for bolting APs
- RJ45 cables (4-5 nos.)

**Job Type**: Temporary
Contract length: 2 days

**Salary**: R450,00 per hour
